Remote work is on the rise! It’s convenient, it saves on gas, and who doesn’t love working in their pajamas? Companies that allow remote work really know what the people want!
According to estimates by the U.S. Census Bureau, the percentage of Americans who work at home tripled to 17.9% since 2019.
Another survey, called Valuing Alternative Work Arrangements, by 2 economics professors, Alexandre Mas (Princeton University) and Amanda Pallais (Harvard University), found that most workers were willing to take an 8% wage cut for work from home jobs.
I can’t say I wouldn’t be willing to take a lower salary as well, the benefits of working 100% remotely can be far greater.
Benefits to working remotely:
- Waste less time commuting
- Saving money on transportation (Gas, Vehicle maintenance, Parking, Tolls, etc.)
- Saving money on professional attire
- Reduced child care costs
